I want to show you how to clean fresh picked ackee. Fresh picked ackee must be cleaned well before cooking. Remember that ackee is also available in the can and they are already cleaned for you. Follow these simple cleaning tips and you will soon be on your way to eating some delicious Ackee and Saltfish. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner ackee is so good!
***Never force open ackee, you must wait for the ackee to naturally open***Once naturally open use the following tips to ensure you are cleaning the ackee properly.
- Remove each ackee from the pod
- Remove the black seed
- Remove any pink tissue
- Repeat for each ackee
