Hello, hello!! Fried green plantains aka tostones are crunchy, perfectly salted, and absolutely delicious. A tasty alternative to Jamaican Rice and Peas. They go well with seafood or they can be enjoyed solo. Fried green plantains can be jazzed up with a simple pico de gallo. Please watch the video to see how I make these (click HERE). You can eat these for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Talk about flexibility! So, if you are looking for something that is yummy and also reminds you of that island vacation you took 6 months ago then look no further. In my video, I show you how I peel the green plantain and slice it up to prepare for frying. This is best served hot!
How to Make Fried Green Plantains
- 1 – 2 Green Plantains
- Remove skin from plantain
- Begin slicing plantain
- Heat pot and add oil
- Fry each side of plantain on medium heat for about 2 minutes, or until golden brown
- Remove from heat and use a rolling pin to crush the plantain
